O
MAHONY GATHERINGS IN IRELAND
The principal event in the Society's calendar is The O
Mahony Gathering in Ireland.
This is the annual open-air meeting of O Mahony families and their friends,
assembling from around the world. The Gathering, initiated in 1955 by the noted
genealogist, Eoin O Mahony (1904-1970) is held each summer - on the weekend
nearest to the Summer Solstice, June 21st - at one of the sixteen castles and
other sites associated with the surname. This is a great opportunity to meet
new friends, discuss and research your family tree, and visit the beautiful
country of Ireland.
Gatherings of the O Mahony Society will always include a professional
genealogical workshop.
